Reform Civil Service

Led by:

Advisor to PM on Institutional Reforms and Austerity

“Appoint the most suitable officers in the federal bureaucracy purely on merit.
Simultaneously, constitute a taskforce that delivers a blueprint to transform Pakistan’s civil
services by ensuring tenure protection and an accountability mechanism to improve
credibility, in order to attract and retain the best talent in the country.”

Milestones of federal government:

  • Appointments to key positions completed - Complete
  • Address by PM to civil servants - Complete
  • Civil Services Reform task force notified, first meeting held, and timeline for reform framework - In progress

Next steps:

  • Ministers committee formed to examine the first two proposals submitted by the Task Force on tenure
protection and process of appointments purely on merit
  • Continue to consolidate further recommendations from the task force across the entire value chain of
the civil service reforms process and present to cabinet periodically for approval in a staggered manner

Each life is made up of mistakes and learning, waiting and growing, practicing patience and being persistent.
